I'm an anime fan and trying to watch some shows without streaming or torrenting them was a nightmare. You'd have to wait a year after the show originally came out for a proper DVD/Blu-Ray release at an extortionate price point. Now paid and legal streaming services like .......... exist, making it much easier to access the content quickly and legally.
It's the same with software, if you want Microsoft Word, you have to pay a high license fee for the complete MS Office package when you really only need one component of it.
I avoid piracy but it's a natural reaction to the failure of the dinosaurs running these big companies not recognising changes in market trends. The fact that our government and many others seem to think that supporting the businesses "suffering" due to the effects of piracy are a higher priority than protecting and enabling us as consumers and taxpayers when accessing this content is baffling to me.
The only way that you'll make piracy like this go away permanently is if you remove the need to pirate content in the first place."
